Mavrik Cellars

Mavrik Cellars was started by Bob Kreisher, a former college professor and his wife Mariana Brown, a former environmental consultant.  Both became winemakers through hands on experience.  They now both work for a company providing specialty services and equipment to other wineries.

Their long-term plan?  They own a 55 acre ranch near San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and intend to make wine there--at nearly 7000' elevation. The photo above is of an ancient mesquite tree at the top of the ranch, flanked by the clear blue sky of central Mexico's wide-open spaces.

So far, things are coming along nicely and Bob and Mariana planted their first vines on the ranch this spring--mostly Rhone varieties of course.

They work hands-on at everything, from keeping the books, to designing the labels, as well as making the wine.  Sometimes they lean on their friends and the rest of the international winemaking staff of consultants they work with in an effort to make the very best wine possible for the very best price.
